2D Animation made in Flash with backgrounds made in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
Howard and Theodore (brothers, ) made these special effects at Republic Pictures. Howard later went on to work for Irwin Allen shows like “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.” and “Lost in Space”.
I heard they tried mannequins on wires for the 1978 SUPERMAN but they said they couldn’t get it to look right. It had “No life”.
But this footage was 3 or 4 decades earlier and it looks great. A Superman mannequin with some animatronic parts could still work today.
Those Captain Marvel shots look great until you see too much of the mannequins face,

Well I’ve been busier than a little bee.
Doing what?
Packing up this Round Rock honey and sending it to my friends all over the
country.
Why? Because they love it!
Frankly my dear I’m exhausted!
But I heard some wonderful news today.
Do you know that Round Rock honey has one of those little
online gadgets? a dot-com!
Round Rock honey dot com.
You can open up your computer,
type in: Round Rock honey dot com
And you can send Round Rock honey to yourself or your friends all over the country it’s as easy as that.
I’m so excited and now Blanche can getback to doing what she does best
drinking tea on the veranda.
Sweetened by Round Rock honey of course”
Post Production was done at mattkprovideo studios in Austin, Texas.
Round Rock Honey is justly proud of it’s high quality, naturally grown and delicious Honey products.
I am so happy to be a part of letting folks know about this great product.
Shot with a Canon DSLR on a slider, and edited with Adobe Premiere. I added the “Lumetri” effect to make the footage seem more cinematic.
The logo animation was created in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
I didn’t design the Round Rock Honey Logo. I traced it in Adobe Photoshop.
( How to wrap text tutorial )
I drew the honey combs using the Adobe Photoshop Pen Tool. I colored it with the paint bucket tool.
The honeycomb image was imported as a Photoshop layer into Adobe After Effects.
( Import> Name> Import as layered sequence)
The layer was made into a “3D Space” image. Then the image was duplicated and “nudged up” one line. ( The layer was selected then the keyboard UP arrow was tapped once) Then this was repeated 150 times. ( Copy the 3D layer, select it and move it up one line. Repeat).
The honey jar image was added and made a 3D layer.
It was duplicated and at 8 seconds in the under layer darkens and has RADIAL blur added. Then a third copy occurs above and has the Stylize / GLOW effect applied to it. An elliptical mask moves over it.

I just saw the new Winnie the Pooh movie. Oops I mean “Christopher Robin”.
When I first saw the Trailer
I thought it was the Disney Corp trying to cash in on the critically acclaimed:
Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017)
And now that I’ve seen it…. I still kind of think that.
I enjoyed parts of it. Its technically amazing. HOW did they make those animals move? Puppetry? Advanced CGI? Or… most likely… a combination of all of them?
The characters were a clever hybrid of the original storyboard drawings and Disney cartoon models.
The real Christopher Robin:

Ewan McGregors a great actor, but this guy looks more the part:

The story is a bit remiscent of Spielbergs HOOK . The work a holic dad who cant find time to be with his family.
It also reminded me a bit of DREAM CHILD, TED, and the Harry Potters…
WHO was this movie for? Small children? Jaded Adults?
And THIS “Christopher Robin” has almost NO connection to what I know of the real one ( and I’m not even that much a Pooh buff).
If they can use the “magic tree” to teleport from London to the hundred Acre wood, why couldn’t they use it to transport back?
It has marvellous moments, but the ending was bit too much “Disney Ex Machina”
