SEO thoughts

I am no expert on making a website thats easy to find on google. I am not an expert on Search Engine Optimization.

But I did figure out one small technique that might help.

Whenever I finish a video project I want to share it on youtube so my clients can see it, or THAT is its final destination.

However, I dont send folks the youtube link directly. I post the youtube file onto my website first, then I share the web page on facebook. That way I get more hits on my website.

Such as:
https://austintxweddingvideo.com/2017/11/10/zack-and-aimee/

If I sent just the youtube link, I might get a lot of youtube hits. But If I send out my web addresss, people have to go to my website first, upping the web pages hit count. I get web hits but when they click on the video I get the youtube hits as well.

That is a wedding video.  I posted it to the brides facebook page and within 20 minutes it had over 20 hits.  An hour later it had almost 50 hits.   All her friends and family were eager to see her wedding reel. So they all rushed to my website.  Just a youtube post wouldnt draw anyone to my website.  I made it so that all those people had to go to my wedding video website to get to the youtube video.  They could  now  click on the youtube link and just share that. But I don’t think they will/ We will see, its only been one day.

I really want people interested in getting a web video produced will find me. I shoot video, edit it and create animations.  I hope if someone does a google search on “video production austin” or  “video production san antonio”  will find me and hire me.

UPDATE:

I just went to :

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

and tested my three websites.

this one,  www.mattkprovideo.com  ( my website about animation and video production)

http://www.lovestorytexas.com    ( my alleged high end wedding video website).

and www.austintxweddingvideo.com   ( which is supposed to be my website for lower cost wedding video services).

I would think my lovestorytexas.com website would rank highest, the mattkprovideo would be second and the simple low end wordpress wedding site would be last.

Not so fast

the low end wedding video site ranked highest:

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Faustintxweddingvideo.com%2F&tab=desktop

https://mattkprovideo.com/  got a POOR mobile device ranking. 62 / 100

but a “Needs Work  76 / 100″ on desktops.

http://lovestorytexas.com/    got “Poor  33 / 100″  for mobile and  “Poor 30 / 100″ for desktop computer users.

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Flovestorytexas.com

wow. a lot of work to do.

Robot Chicken TWD Special

mattkprovideo.com/2017/11/09/robot-chicken-twd-special/

http://comicbook.com/thewalkingdead/2017/09/26/robot-chicken-walking-dead-special/

The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking airs October 8th and is going to feature a number of segments sure to rile up The Walking Dead fans, including one about a sitcom featuring Maggie and a post-Lucille Glenn still living together titled “Happy Glenndings.”

“I’m biased because I wrote it, but ‘Happy Glenndings’…that’s just one of those things we do on Robot Chicken: What happened after everybody went home?” Robot Chicken writer Breckin Meyer told Yahoo Entertainment.

The larger story of the special involves a group of fans visiting a Walking Deadmuseum full of artifacts like Daryl’s crossbow. The tour guide begins telling the history of The Walking Dead until an old man with an eyepatch, Old Man Carl, pulls aside Robot Chicken character The Nerd to give his version of the apocalypse as relayed through the bit in the Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special.

Old Man Carl, and young Carl, are voiced by Chandler Riggs, who is joined in the episode by his Walking Dead co-stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Sarah Wayne Callies, Jon Bernthal, Lennie James, Steven Yeun, Scott Wilson, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Rooker, and Josh McDermitt.

“[The special] is just this ultimate kind of love fest of The Walking Dead, of ‘Hey, let’s put this in, oh, we got to have Carl doing this, we gotta have Darryl’s crossbow, and Carl’s hat!’” Meyer said. “All of that. I think that was just the ultimate love letter to The Walking Dead.”

The idea to do a Walking Dead-themed episode of Robot Chicken actually started with The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.

“I wish it were a more elaborate story,” Robot Chicken co-creator Matthew Senreich explained. “At San Diego Comic-Con, I do this annual dinner with a bunch of people… We all kind of started in comic books, and Robert Kirkman is one of those people. So we were sitting there during our annual dinner, and [Kirkman] was like, ‘Hey, you’ve done these DC specials for Robot Chicken, why don’t you do a Walking Dead?” And I was like, ‘OK.’ So, really, it was very casual, and we just kind of joked about it at that dinner.”

“That’s a testament to both AMC and Adult Swim and how well they play together, that we were able to pull something like this off,” added Robot Chicken co-creator Seth Green.

The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking premieres October 8th at midnight on Adult Swim.

The Walking Dead Season Eight premieres October 22nd at 9 pm ET on AMC.

Logo Removal, After Effects

mattkprovideo.com/2017/11/09/logo-removal-after-effects/

A client wanted the red tape on the football players shirt removed. The tape was covering up a copyrighted logo. I exported the files into an Adobe Photoshop Stack, then used the clone tool to cover up the red tape.

Then I imported them into Adobe After Effects, and sequenced them back into order.

Shining Big Screen

mattkprovideo.com/2017/11/08/shining-big-screen/

I just saw the Shining on the big screen. I’ve seen it hundreds of times on VHS but its a completely different experience on the Big Screen. ( Alamo Drafthouse San Antonio). With a clean color corrected print, full screen and full sound.

QUESTION” do you think the film is saying that Jack Torrance is possessed by one of the ghosts of the Overlook ( the ghost of the caretaker) or that he is the reincarnation of the care taker? Was his face always in that B&W photo or did he join them at the end of the movie?
