I know past employees of Doug M      n’s “Daybreak Direct”.

He seems to be absolutely psychotic (not trying to be funny) and I will be amazed if the company does not go under in the next month (from funding problems; not paying employees; drug addictions (that is the word going around); Texas Workforce Commission complaints, the list goes on and on

No joke – I worked for this guy for a few months, he is snorts more coke than John Belushi did in his prime.

He thrives on unsuspecting workers who are none the wiser, and willing to forestall their personal lives just to chase the carrot on a string.

All he really is, at the end of the day is a drug addled paranoid schizophrenic who owes every former employee he has ever had money. He is a pathological liar, and has no friends.

I guess snorting Peru up your nose, while smoking pot, while drinking all day didn’t turn out that well for you did it Doug?

Good news is, that he is completely broke now, so hopefully we don’t have to tolerate any more of his spam when they shut off his electricity.

Doug was an absolute idiot…always wacked out on cocaine, even smoking pot in his office. It was very common for him to literally scream at employees. Towards the end, he would take whiteboard markers and scribble notes on his white tile floors…he’d gone absolutely nuts. He’d even told his HR manager that he had “no use for 40-year-old women.” He had a penchant for hiring pretty young women with short skirts to be his personal assistant, then would even upgrade them to girlfriend status, even buying one a BMW roadster. I think she suffered a drug overdose at one of his parties…

He would tell us we had a meeting at the country club, and tell us to meet him at his house (employees were expected to drop everything and run to his house…at his beck and call), then we would take us all in his ski boat to the country club, holding a “business meeting” while standing in the bow and smoking a joint. I picked up what I thought was a piece of “art glass” one day, and another employee informed me it was a pipe.

He also kept a closet stocked with little black dresses for when his little playthings (at one time it was the waitresses from Outback Steakhouse), would come over, and he wanted them to dress up like the girls in the Robert Palmer video. There was even black hosiery in the drawers.

No wonder the company kept having to pay off the sexual harassment lawsuits, and they finally had to boot him out of his own company.

I wish he weren’t in such poor health so he could get that ‘extra special’ treatment they give pedophiles in prison.

He is truly evil, and I thank God he is broke… because money is all he ever cared about.

He is probably one of the worst people I have ever met. My doctor advised that I stop working for him… which I did back when I started having dreams about knocking his head off during one of his tweaked out coke benders.

I would love to be there when they haul him off to prison, and they sell everything in his rental house at auction.

Such hyperbole about this guy…. I can’t help wondering whether it’s all true.

But what I really want to know is how he harvests his addresses. I have a user who is ticked off — he thinks Dougie got his address from a WebEx my user had attended. Anyone know whether this might be the case?

Set three years after the events of Blade Runner,[3], the Tyrell Corporation has developed the new Nexus-8 line of replicants, who now possess lifespans equivalent to that of a regular human. This causes a massive backlash among the human populace, who begin hunting down and killing replicants. One of these replicants, Trixie, is attacked by a group of thugs but is rescued by Iggy. Iggy reveals to her that he used to be a soldier but deserted when he realized the enemy soldiers he had been fighting and killing were also replicants.

Iggy hatches a plan with Trixie to destroy the Tyrell Corporation’s database of registered replicants, so that replicants can no longer be hunted. Trixie befriends Ren, who is a technician in charge of launching nuclear missiles. Ren agrees to redirect a test missile to detonate over Los Angeles, blacking out the city and wiping out all electronic data. At the same time, Ren and Iggy hijack a fuel truck to physically destroy the Tyrell Corporation’s servers. The operation is a success, with the servers destroyed and power to Los Angeles disabled. However, Trixie is killed by security forces in the process. Iggy manages to escape and removes his right eye, the only thing that can identify him as a replicant.

The ending narration states that in the aftermath of the Black Out, all replicant production was banned and the Tyrell Corporation went bankrupt, only for the Wallace Corporation to restart production of a new model a decade later.

I like Blade Runner 2049 despite its huge flaws.
This world is less crowded than the first Blade Runner. It doesn’t have the banal narration ( that apparently Harrison did so lifelessly in the hopes that it wouldn’t be used?)
As badly written and edited as this second one may be, its a bit better than the first one.
The first one spent so much time on its eye popping anime / “Heavy Metal Magazine” visuals that it was hard to connect with the characters. It was MTV a few years before MTV.
SPOILERS
The street hooker who bonds with the hologram….. why did she put a tracker on “K” if shes secretly working for the replicant resistance? She just helped the Corporation FIND Decker. Oh wait, they WANTED Decker dead ( they told K to kill him so he wouldnt lead the authorities to his offspring….
If the replicant resistance doesn’t want Decker to meet his daughter, AND they are also in Las Vegas, why didn’t THEY put a bullet in Decker?
Didn’t K’s flying car get destroyed in Vegas? Then how did he get back to Los Angeles, and HOW did he know what cars Decker was in?
Didn’t K know that he was somehow tracked to Vegas? Then why would he think he or Decker wouldn’t be tracked to the daughters workplace?
What was the point of the hologram Elvis and Marilyn? In a good screenplay EVERYTHING is supposed to mean SOMETHING. Why all the attention to the hologram Sinatra / Elvis etc… to show that replicants are one step above holograms? I thought Ks hologram girlfriend would somehow have something to do with that scene.
We never see Replicants doing any work. WHY have them if not to use them as slaves. And why send K to retire that replicant who went out to the middle of nowhere to farm? What was he hurting out there that the police would be interested in killing him? If he was growing protein and …. garlic- why not LET HIM grow that stuff? ” we think there is a replicant living out in the middle of nowhere growing things to keep us all alive- get find him and kill him!”
“Why??” ” I dunno?”
So IS Decker a replicant? Why would a replicant have semen?
Did they CG Sean Youngs face onto a lookalike actress like they did with Princess leia in Rogue One? And at one point its obviously just another woman dressed up as Rachel.
Was “LUV” in favor or against the idea of a replicant having a baby? It seems like Niander (Jared Leto) fears the power of replicant babies, Luv talks about a replicant baby like its th emessiah. And the cop reacts to th eidea like Dr Zaius fear sthe arrival of Astronaut Taylor in the original APES.
WAYY too much time to see K wandering around Las Vegas and that hotel.
Oh by the way, if the forgettable SOLDIER happens in the same universe as Blade Runner, does this 2049 film take place in the same universe as….”AI”? The enormous stripper statues in this film look a LOT like what we saw in A.I.
This movie was like a directors cut DVD with the deleted scenes kept in.

Soldier was written by David Peoples, who co-wrote the script for Blade Runner. Peoples considers Soldier to be a “spin-off sidequel“-spiritual successor to Blade Runner, seeing both films as existing in a shared fictional universe.[4] The film obliquely refers to various elements of stories written by Philip K. Dick (who wrote the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, on which Blade Runner is based), or film adaptations thereof. A Spinner from Blade Runner can be seen in the wreckage on a junk planet in the film.
