LYRICS:
Who appointed Ramsey Clark, who has done his best to torpedo the investigation of the case? Who controls the CIA? Who controls the FBI? Who controls the Archives where this evidence is locked up for so long that it is unlikely that there is anybody in this room who will be alive when it is released? This is really your property and the property of the people of this country. Who has the arrogance and the brass to prevent the people from seeing that evidence? Who indeed? “The one man who has profited the most from the assassination- your friendly President, Lyndon Johnson!” —Jim Garrison
Fred Litwin, author of several JFK assassination books, ( I Was a Teenage Conspiracy Freak, On The Trail of Delusion: Jim Garrison: The Great Accuser, Oliver Stone’s Film-Flam: The Demagogue of Dealey Plaza, A Heritage of Nonsense: Jim Garrison’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination) appeared on the TV news and discussed the newly released government files on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

HOST:
Who decide Well Fred many would say if not the original sin this takes us back to the Garden of Eden Garden of Eden in distrusting our government This event in 1963 Fred you went through that I assume you wrote “I was a teenage JFK conspiracy freak.” That also is in the past tense Fred I see you right I was What information do you hope to hold out here will give us answers we deserve answers Fred And it does It is shrouded in conspiracy and silence and cover up That much is a fact So what can we hope to to hold on to here is getting to the truth
FRED LITWIN:
Well I hate to disappoint you but I think that we actually have all the answers we need and people are going to be very, very disappointed by these documents The documents that will be released we already know what they are they’re already listed in the various transparency reports that were released by the various departments For instance you could actually go online right now and look at all the CIA documents that will be released under this release There’s around 2600 documents You could see them now They’ve actually been released It’s just a few redactions In CA some cases some documents have just redacted perhaps the distribution list of where the actual document goes to Like there might be a CIA location they want to keep secret
There’s 400 documents with social security numbers of people who are still living
So I hate to tell you that we you could right now look at all the documents and see the reductions for yourselves There’s not that much in there
HOST
And you’re telling me Fred that if I saw that and where you sit today that you believe in essentially Murphy’s Law that that the easiest explanation is the simplest explanation that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone from the schoolbook depository
(Personal Note: at 1:38 the Fox host is describing “Occams Razor” Not “Murphys Law)
FRED LITWIN:
Well I should also add that the House Select Committee on Assassinations they also concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots and killed JFK Their conclusions of a probable probable conspiracy were debunked by the National Academy of Sciences which debunked their acoustics evidence The evidence is very very very clear that Lee Harvey Oswald was a lone gunman
HOST:
I think that’s only part of the story though isn’t it Fred look just a few months ago I visited the school book depository and whether or not we want to dismiss the grassy Knoll theory which I don’t find that credible personally But even if you come away from that experience saying Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone shooter that’s not then the end of the story And I’ll go lastly back to you Thomas The question is who set him in motion was he ever a government asset was there more in creating the events that led to Lee Harvey Oswald that day and to your records that you’ve had there um Thomas you only get what the agencies turn over to you

I am assuming there a lot of military veterans on here. I have a question about the term “201 File”
Bear with me, this question DOES pertain to Military History….. eventually…
I know it’s a term for someone’s personnel file, if you are IN the military.
But I am curious if that is an across the board term for employment / personnel file for ALL government employees? Would a civilian working on a military base have a “201 file”?
If someone who worked for the Federal Government but had never been in the military have a “201 file”? Sure they’d have employee records but are they actually called “201 files?”
Would an elected Senator who was never in the service have something called a”201 file?” Not something “just like a 201 file” or something “just like a 201 file” but a file actually called “201?”
Why I ask is….
Assassin and former Marine Lee Harvey Oswald had a USMC “201 file”
But some books claim that former CIA agents said they saw a “201 File” on Lee Harvey Oswald.
That sure SOUNDS like Oswald used to be a CIA employee, doesnt it?
BUT, other books Ive read say that the CIA not only called their employee records “201 Files” but they also called the records of people they were snooping on / interested in “201 Files”
If thats true then by that same logic would the CIA have “201 Files” on people like Nikita Kruschev, Winston Churchill , Fidel Castro, Charles DeGaul, etc..
which is a little confusing to me. I would think the CIA would use a different word for their employees versus people they were keeping tabs on ( but what would I know?)
Is the phrase “201 file” an all purpose generic term used by the government for “information on people?”
