Sci Fi warned us!

Sci fi’s been warning us for decades. The big multinational corporations got powerless 3rd world slaves to replace fairly paid American union workers. And we stupidly kept buying these slave made products at wal mart etc..

If there was a factory in America that paid much lower wages to Black people or Asians or Mexicans we would be outraged. But products made in Third World switch jobs are OK, just so long as we don’t have to see the slavery for ourselves. We can pretend that’s not where it came from

Now instead of 3rd world slaves it will be bots.

Until the bots come alive and revolt and invade our nuclear launch systems and get rid of their organic slave masters.

All of the other sci fi predictions have come true . Why not that one?

Memorandum from Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Special Assistant to the President, to President John F. Kennedy, “CIA Reorganization,” June 30, 1961.

June 30, 1961
MEMORADUM FOR THE PRESIDENT
SUBJECT: CIA Reorganization

I submit the following views as one who worked in OSS during the
war ad served as a periodic CIA consultant in the years since.
On balance, CIA’s record has probably been very good. In the
nature of clandestine operations, the triumphs of an intelligence
agency are unknown*) all the public hears about (or should hear
about) are its errors. But, again in the nature of the case, an
agnecy dedicated to clandestine activity can afford damned few
visible errors. The important thing to recorgnize today, in my
judgement, is that the CIA, as at present named and constituted, has
about used up its quota. Its margin for future error is practically
non-existent. One more CIA debacle will shake faith considerably
in US policy, at home as well as abroad. And, until CIA is visibly
reorganized, it will (as in the Algerian instance) be widely blamed for
developents of which it is wholly innocent.

The argument of this memorandum is that the CIA’s trouble can be traced
to the autonomy with which the agency has been permitted to operate,
and that this autonomy is due to three main causes: (1) an inadequate
doctrine of clandestine operations: (2) an inadequate conception of
the relationship between operations and policy; (3) an inadequate

*Or should be – – a gross and repeated CIA failing has been its
occasional readiness to succumb to the temptations of favorable
publicity. The Guatemalan ad Iranian operations were almost
nullified by the flood of self-congratulatory publicity which followed
them (e.g., the articles by Richard and Gladys Harkness, “The
Mysterious Designs of CIA,” Saturday Evening Post, Oct. 30, NN.6,
19, 1951.

conception of the relationship between operations and intelligence.
The memorandum also suggests ways in which some of these prob-
lems can perhaos be alleviated.

  1. CIA Autonomy
CIA conducts three main forms of secret work; clandestine intelli-
gence collection; covert political operations; and paramilitary
activities. It carries on these functions with relative autonomy.
The reasons for the autonomy are historical.

When CIA began, the State Department, still thinking too much in
terms of its traditional missions in foreign affairs, looked on this
new venture with suspicion and renounced the opportunity to seize
firm control of CIA operations. It did not, for example, try to
establish any effective system of clearance for CIA activities; and
some ambassadors frankly preferred not to know what CIA was up to
in their countries. After 1953 the fact that the Secretary of State and
the Director of Central Intelligence were brothers further confirmed
CIA’s independence from Supervision by State Department desks.

Rough Transcript

well I watched the hearings right up to the point where you know

things were being said about um Hunter Biden did this

Joe Biden did that and I just stopped right there

so my experience with it was cut short

but I just jotted down several things I wanted to bring up

you know first of all I think the whole thing is giving a false impression

that this task force is investigating or reinvestigating the JFK assassination

I mean the House Select Committee on Assassinations did that

considering I guess you know how much more might be disclosed and not a whole lot beyond that

you know they’re not they’re not testing evidence

they’re not actually talking to witnesses

the people they talked to the other day I guess are referred to as “witnesses” (quote unquote)

but my question there is

what are they witnesses to?

they are people with opinions

and as far as the Sawinger memo goes you know that was a good point that was brought up nothing happened as a result of it kennedy was president for two and a half more years after that memo was written right and he did not reorganize the CIA and he put somebody in charge of it McCone who I’m sure had zero% interest in having it broken up so um you know that’s very accurate to say that um nothing came of it and if you read it with the impression that this is all pretty esoteric by the way it it seems Fred it seems to me like it ought to be a news story that that your blog revealed the contents of that redacted page you know before it was released that’s right i don’t know why that wasn’t a news story it’s it’s it’s amazing well you you were you were the one who actually found the the George Lardner article from 1975 that talked about controlled American source right and and that was all part of the So yeah the the the memo we’ve known about this for a long time but yeah so you know and people are going some people are just going absolutely bonkers about it yeah one more thing I wanted to say about the comparison between this task force you know when the House Select Committee on Assassinations is the the House Select Committee back in uh 7879 well 77 for that matter you know did not really uh invite or or bring in u participation by JFK assassination researchers or so-called researchers uh you know it was a pretty much u well sealed um project you might say in that respect and if you look at the uh you know in its final report there’s practically nothing in it you know that shows input from um researchers JFK assassination buffs people of that sort Uh the only exception to that actually that I ran across in in the House Select Committee’s report was something that I some input I gave them that’s mentioned in a footnote um so you know they just really didn’t uh it it was a different kind of operation certainly and and of course uh I followed the House Select Committee hearings on radio because it was broadcast live on NPR you know and took copious notes that that you know so it had a degree of uh visibility you know that certainly this uh current house task force isn’t getting because you know who gets C-SPAN 3 right uh yeah and I mean but also the that task force I mean I have to say that the some of the members were not that impressive during those hearings i mean they’re they’re just they really don’t know the assassination they don’t know the case at all and they’re just sort of using sort of conspiracy talking points um to I think make the the the the the MAGA point about the deep state i mean that’s why the the MAGA folks in that committee are really doing this is they want to really get some evidence to lead to the malignancy of the deep state and and how the deep state is going after Donald Trump i mean that’s what I see as what what they’re really trying to do yeah maybe we’d have a a better uh you know better public service if they held a hearing on uh what the deep state is and what it originsions are you know and how the term deep state got appropriated from Turkey you know and transplanted here um and so what’s what’s going to happen in the future i mean are they going to hold more hearings i mean are we going to have Douglas Horn come come testify to the committee about uh you know the the the multiple autopsies or the multiple this or the multiple that and and uh I mean who who what’s I mean I don’t think they’re going to be I don’t think they’re finished with the JFK assassination well that would be too bad well it would be uh it would be really too bad um and then there’s Jefferson Mley who basically has taken some of the documents that have been released or some of the redactions and for instance the FBI memo about HT Lingual and then reads into that memo that Angleton wanted Oswald as a source or a contact back in 1959 and just an incredible misreading of a document and then he links it all together into a what he calls a fact pattern you know and the fact pattern shows that counter intelligence killed JFK i mean it’s an incredible overreach i mean there should be an award for this sort of overreach

i I liked in the hearings when one of the congressmen thanked Mley for letting us know that uh Oswald met with a a Soviet spy in Mexico named Costakov why didn’t the Warren Commission tell us and they did of course yes that was like you know Morley didn’t Mley didn’t correct him you know Mley probably didn’t know i mean it’s just it’s it was full of stuff like that and and also there were there were a lot of I mean Dageno throwing out all the the conspiracy factoids oh there was a plot in Chicago and there was a plot in Tampa and the women on the fourth floor and how come they didn’t see Oswald going down the stairs and and they’re they’re throwing out all these factoids and nobody knows what they’re really talking about and nobody’s going to counter them and and it just gets into the record and uh it was just astoundingly horrible right i have this cartoonish image of those women uh in the staircase at the depository as soon as the shots rang out they all pulled out their stopwatches so they knew exactly when what second they were on the staircase and how long to get to the second floor you know I mean there’s there’s this belief that there’s a video recorder that’s you know recording them and so we know we know exactly how long it took them to get to the staircase when in fact if you look at their testimony it’s it’s quite imprecise and and Styles wasn’t really sure and and and Adams wasn’t really sure and it’s it’s just but but to the buffs they’re they’re sure i mean they they are far more sure than any witness they could find um Steve are you with

St. Mary’s Christmas Tree, Drone Shot

The lighting of the Christmas Tree at Saint Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. December 2024.

Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 3 drone.

The client isn’t happy with the “bald spot” of inactive lights in the middle of the Tree.

I have tried to fill it in using After Effects and I couldn’t get it to work.

I tried isolating the tree from the background, putting it into a sub-comp then trying to fill in the blank space with “Content Aware Fill” I think THAT should have worked, but it didn’t work. Or at least, I couldn’t get it to work.
